Current Projects

Society members are currently working on projects:

The story of Plumtree Railway Station – Margaret Wright.   Soon to be completed and then published by the Society

The complete history of Keyworth.  A publication for the general reader telling the story of the village, its people and buildings.  This uses the existing and varied publications made by the Society over the years as well as new research. – Keith Barton and Howard Fisher

In addition to Keyworth & District Local History Society the village has a Conservation Area Advisory Group (CAAG) of which several KDLHS members are a part.

CAAG is an independent group with its own funding structure and has an ongoing project to fully investigate all the properties, private and commercial, within the Keyworth Conservation Area and holds a large volume of very interesting information in its records.  KDLHS fully supports CAAG and receives regular updates about the ongoing work relating to the Conservation Area.

The Chair, Linda Abbey, is supported by several members, including Sheila Barton (KDLHS News Letter Editor), who can be contacted on CAAG matters through the drop-down section on this web site’s Contact page.
